Weird Science picked up the numbering sequence of EC's Pre-Trend Saddle Romances series (which itself started off life as The Happy Houlihans for the first two issues before becoming Saddle Justice for issue #'s 3 through 8). Weird Science was published bi-monthly along with its sister magazine Weird Fantasy from May 1950 to Dec. 1953. Although favorites of the staff, sales on the two books were slow compared to the Horror titles. Therefore, it was decided to combine the two
Sci-Fi titles into one book, Weird Science-Fantasy, with issue # 23.
